While in Greece, he was blessed to have married Maria Bousboura at the Kypseli Church in Athens and to have become a father. Two of Fr. Emmanuel and Presbytera Maria's three children were born in Greece. Their youngest was born in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fr. Emmanuel was ordained a deacon in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and then a priest in Miami, Florida. His first assignment was at the Atlanta Cathedral, where he served as the second priest from 1975-1978. His first pastorate was in Augusta, Georgia from 1978-1981. He was then assigned to the fourth largest Greek Orthodox Church in the United States in Jamaica Queens, New York City, where he served from 1981-1986.  In 1986, Fr. Emmanuel has continued his service at the pleasure of the Metropolis of New Jersey.

In his own words, Fr. Emmanuel "enjoys his work with the Sunday School and the Youth Ministries and believes that the mission of the Church here in America is EDUCATIONAL."
