Sunday School at St. George Greek Orthodox Church
“Building a Strong Foundation in Faith”


At St. George Greek Orthodox Church, our Sunday School program is dedicated to teaching the next generation about the Orthodox Christian faith in a warm, engaging, and nurturing environment. Our mission is to help children develop a strong spiritual foundation, grow in their love for Christ, and understand how to live as faithful Orthodox Christians in their daily lives.


Our Mission & Goals


Through our Sunday School program, we strive to:

  • Teach children about the Holy Scriptures, Orthodox traditions, and sacraments

  • Encourage participation in the Divine Liturgy and the life of the Church

  • Instill Christian values such as love, kindness, compassion, and service

  • Help students build a strong connection with their Orthodox faith and community


Sunday School Schedule & Classes

 

General Sunday School information:

  • Classes are held every Sunday after Holy Communion

  • Open to children from Preschool through High School

  • Lessons include Bible stories, discussions on Orthodox teachings, prayers, and interactive activities


Special Events & Activities


Throughout the year, students participate in a variety of programs that reinforce their faith and encourage fellowship, including:

  • Christmas Pageant – Celebrating the Nativity of Christ through music and storytelling

  • Oratorical Festival – Encouraging students to express their faith through public speaking

  • Holy Week & Pascha Activities – Engaging students in the significance of Pascha (Easter)

  • Service Projects – Teaching the importance of giving back to the community

We invite all children and families of our parish to participate in our Sunday School program. Parents and parishioners are also encouraged to support this ministry by volunteering and assisting in activities.
